Instructor: Yvonne Joyner

Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Abstract Landscapes in Watercolor – by Yvonne Joyner
Loosen up & experience the excitement of watercolor by letting go and watching the magic happen!
• Is it an Abstract or is it a Landscape? Sometimes it’s both!
• By focusing on the shapes in the landscape and handling watercolor in a loose, free-flowing way, we encourage the special effects that can happen serendipitously.
• Call it “Landscapish” as you hint at what is there but omit detailed descriptions.
This truly is so much fun!!!
I bring my passion and love for teaching to inspire and motivate in a fun, fast-paced workshop. Watercolor artists with some experience as well as seasoned artists looking for renewed inspiration and insights will enjoy this class.
Yvonne has a degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University, where she was trained in oil painting, ceramics & photography. After graduating she worked as a professional potter and an art teacher before discovering a passion for watercolor 25 years ago.
Yvonne’s paintings have been shown in galleries in Scottsdale, AZ, Durango, CO and Sedona, AZ, where she has also been featured in one-woman shows and exhibitions.
“I’m interested in capturing the magical elusive drama of light, whether it is illuminating a recognizable subject or lighting up our creative spirits. I love the translucence of watercolor for light-permeated paintings, and I strive to keep it fresh and spontaneous, letting the watercolor surprise and delight the eye.”
Yvonne is a Silver Signature member of the Arizona Watercolor Association and the Sonoran Arts League.
Students may cancel up to 2 weeks before class.
