Making Paste Paper and Handmade Books!
Day one: Learn to mix paste, add color, and apply paste to selected papers to create patterned works of art. The advantage of the paste paper medium is that the process cannot be controlled precisely. Interesting papers appear to design themselves and it is literally impossible to make a mistake!
Day two: Using our freshly made papers we will spend the day creating book structures that are quick, simple and mess free. Each participant will leave this two day workshop with a variety of one-of-a-kind handmade books, a pile of unique hand designed paste papers and plenty of ideas to add to your artistic endeavors. Paste papers and many handmade book techniques are easily incorporated into other art forms such as collage, mixed media, card making and more. I believe everyone has inherent, creative ability and I encourage you to come and explore and revitalize your creative talents.
