Morrine Maltzman is a Mosaic artist with a unique ability to interpret the world through beautiful stained glass, beads, handmade gems, vintage jewelry, and many organic elements. She creates original art pieces that are found in hospitals, restaurants and private homes throughout the country. Her passion is teaching mosaic artistry to others through studio, group, and private lessons. She looks for materials from all over the world to make her unique art. Italian millefiori, Czech Glass buttons, handmade gems, and unusual fabrics are used with traditional stained glass, dichroic glass, and metals. She loves to use microbeads, sand, crushed glass and touches of glitter to add texture and color. A seasoned teacher, she enjoys watching her students creativity grow, even if they have never dabbled in art before. She loves watching them create original mosaics that they display in their homes. Her students return to her again and again. An accomplished pianist, she holds a Master in Music degree from the University of Michigan. She likes to hike with her yellow lab Henry, bike, swim, and do crossword puzzles in her spare time. She and her husband Steve like to travel-always seeking out unusual shops for treasures to use in her imaginative and distinctive mosaics.
