Class: Beginning and Intermediate Pottery-Jan

Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Cost: $195 for each three week class
Each beginning student will be given instruction and opportunities to learn about the advantages and limitations of working with clay. The students will learn basic handbuilding techniques by making pinch pots, coil creations, and slab forms. Students will create individual projects with instructor assistance. All work will be bisque fired after which students will be taught glaze application techniques in preparation for high firing.
Returning and more advanced students will be given group and individual instruction to help them expand and perfect their skill with clay.
Students will also be given the opportunity to learn to create items on the potter’s wheel. They will be taught to center the clay as well as how to make cylinder forms, bowls, plates, and composite items.
