Class: Recycled Art-“All About Plarn”
Instructors: Deb Hanson/Sue Lewis
Date(s): Wednesday, November 3, 2021
Time: 1 pm to 4 pm
This series of classes takes items headed to your recycle bin, garbage can, or just collecting dust and teaches you some new ways to turn those items into art! We encourage you to sign up for one, two, or all of the classes. Each month there will be a new recycled item to be turned into art. Besides transforming your items into art, we will also talk about some artists who have made a career of making art from recyclables. Start saving some of those recycled items for the class of your choice.
All About Plarn
What is Plarn? It is yarn made from those plastic bags from the grocery store, well, any store really. This class will show you how to make plarn, and give you patterns to turn that plarn into some creative and/or useful items. Instead of those plastic bags being a one-time use plastic, give that plastic a second life. You may already have quite a stash of those plastic bags (any size, any color, any thickness of plastic), but if not start saving those for this fun class.
