Class Description:

At times I complete a painting and can feel my emotions echoing onto the page. This is the effect I achieved creating this mixed media techniques/project workshop. You will love the textural changes in color and tone, and feel of each antique paper you'll transform, echoing your own emotions onto the page. You'll be instructed in painting techniques, mediums and their application, use of transparent coordinating colors, application and types of collage papers, color theory, mood of work, and basic composition. You will use these sheets as a background to your larger canvas/substrate pieces, in journals or as framed art.

This workshop is for the beginner artist wanting to learn techniques in mixed-media, or the experienced artist wanting to hone their craft and add a new dimension to their art. Students will complete 5 or more pieces during the workshop illustrating their personal style.

Each student will receive individual assistance, a written syllabus, definition page of mediums and materials used and where to purchase.

 

Instructor Biography:

Cindy Kovack is a published mixed-media artist residing in Cave Creek, Az. She believes art is as breathing, a necessity to move through each day. She creates in a wide variety of mediums: acrylic, watercolor, oil, pastels, gouache, collage, upcycled assemblage and paper clay. Her strong suit is paint and collage with an emotional twist, enabling the viewer to clearly see and feel her intent. She enjoys instructing students in her proven methods of creativity, assisting the student in achieving their own personal style. She has been published in instructional mixed-media art magazines and teaches at national art seminars, shops, educational facilities, art groups, leagues & guilds.
