Class Description:

Soft pastel is a medium that uses pure pigment applied to sanded papers. Several techniques and materials will be demonstrated and practiced throughout this workshop. The morning session will focus on painting from a reference photo provided by the instructor. Students are welcome to bring photos of an inspiring landscape to use as a reference for a second afternoon painting. Learn from a Master Pastelist and go home with your own masterpiece!

 

Instructor Biography:

Cheri Saffro is an Internationally recognized award winning pastel artist. An early scholarship to the Art Institute Chicago validated and encouraged her to pursue her passion for drawing. She received a Masters degree in Teaching the Gifted and Talented and now teaches and paints whenever she can. Working as an artist today, Cheri has entered numerous Juried Pastel Exhibitions, reaching Master’s Circle Status in the International Association of Pastel Societies. She is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, the Chicago
Pastel Painters and a Distinguished Member of the Arizona Pastel
Artists Association.
