Class Description:

Let’s dive into learning torn paper collage on canvas. It’s relaxing, creative and enjoyable. Our day will include prepping our handmade papers in the colors that you’re using. I will teach you how to easily put your artwork vision on your canvas, and application techniques. We will acquire paper tearing styles, color and value ideas. Students will create a piece of their own choice using handmade papers and quality papers supplied by myself. I will also be supplying all the paint used for our handmade papers. I’ve extended the class this year to being a day and an half which gives everyone the opportunity to leave things set up overnight so we can continue and finish the following day. All levels welcome, why not give it a try?

Instructor Biography:

Hi, I’m Wendy and I was born and raised in northern Ontario, Canada. I was a music teacher for twenty-five years for students in third to eighth grade. I am a National Mountain Bike Coach and teach and lead rides in our McDowell Sonoran Preserve. We started coming to Arizona eleven years ago as Snowbirds and I fell in love with many styles of art. My torn paper collage has collectors in Canada and the U.S. Come and take a class with me so I can share my love of tearing paper with you! 🎨. If you’ve taken my class before, try a more advanced piece and join me again! 😃
