Class Description:

Join award winning collage artist, Mimi Damrauer, for a simple and fun day creating a one-of-a-kind paper collage artwork focusing on words and letters!

We will be experimenting painting letters and numbers in different sizes and styles with Black & White Paints using Rubber Stamps & Freehand Writing. I will supply a variety of colorful hand-painted papers for your backgrounds. Feel free to bring any of your favorite papers (any journaling papers and images ie. butterflies or birds) to make your artwork more personal.

You will create a nice stack of gorgeous papers to use in your workshop project and have a lot to take home to use in your
journaling, scrapbooking, notecards & other artistic projects!

Projects: We will each make a 12" x 12" paper collage artwork that will be personal to you using your letters, numbers, and/or phrases that are meaningful to you. I will have 12"x12"x2" wood panels available for an additional cost if you want to mount them during the workshop. Or you could get them framed at a later time.

All supplies included for the class. Just bring your lunch and drink. Wear paint clothes or bring an apron.

6 Hour Class + Lunch Break in the middle.

About Phoenix based paper collage artist Mimi Damrauer...

Mixed Media Collage is a culmination of everything that I love... painting, fiber (paper & fabric), & sewing.

My work is Outsider Art (self-taught) and has a primitive folk art feel. I grew up in a creative family with a love of travel, and that is reflected in my work. I mainly work in a series, creating an original piece and exploring that idea/design by altering color and/or size to create related pieces.
