SUE LEWIS: “WHIMSEY HAS A MOMENT”

New Exhibit Reception Oct 17

Through her art, Sue Lewis uses whimsical metaphors and unexpected juxtapositions to invite you to pause, wonder and question — and bring your own story to the work.

Her exhibit, “Whimsey Has a Moment,” will be celebrated at the opening reception on Saturday, Oct 17 at the Desert Pavilion.

Throughout the exhibit you'll be guided on a journey through Sue's thought process — as well as your own — to explore themes of inquiry, ambiguity, pain and the effects of Covid in various mediums. At each theme series you'll find guiding thoughts, questions or haiku verses to prompt your imagination on what the pieces mean to you. What's your story? There are no wrong answers!

Sue uses as many as four mediums to present each concept. Images in a large oil painting might be replicated in a small piece of jewelry, a collage or mixed-media.
