Class Description:

For 18 sessions, students are invited to join Mark Christopher for a weekly, guided, open studio class experience. Each week you will work on projects of your own choosing (or ideas from Mark) to help you develop your unique artistic goals, flex your creative muscles, or just learn something brand new. As you work you will receive expert advice, technical knowledge, creative ideas, and more tips and tricks than you can shake a paintbrush at! From foundational ideas such as how to decide a subject matter or how to properly wield a piece of charcoal, to more nuanced discussions on using colors and values to evoke emotion, each session will be focused on your growth as an artist whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro. The classes will also feature instructor demonstrations, short lectures, slideshows, and more, on topics that the class finds the most valuable.

Demonstrations and lecture topics will be determined based on the needs and desires of the students.

Instructor Biography:

Studio Sessions is hosted by nationally acclaimed artist and instructor Mark Christopher who creates artwork that evokes emotion and inspires his students to do the same. For the past decade, his art has been admired and collected across the US and internationally while regularly being honored by his peers. Though formally trained in physics, his two greatest passions, creating and teaching, have informed and altered his life's journey and have become his life's work.

Supplies:

Supply listis for a medium can be provided upon request. Otherwise students bring whatever they;re working on and usually use.

There is a $45 fee for the morning. You will need to sign up on-line here for the Wednesday of your choosing from the dates seen below. There is a minimum of 5 participants needed for each class and limit of 15.
