Class Description:

We will create Sculptures using Fiber Clay, an "easy to use" clay that does not need to be fired. Not only will you learn to work with armatures of dirrerent types, you will learn to finish the piece to look like a bronze. This is a 2 day class and at the end of the second day, you will have a sculpture to be proud of. Everything you need for the class will be provided by the instructor. Please bring a printed picture of what you'd like to create. This we'll use as a reference. Wear closthes that can get dirty or bring an apron.

 

Instructor Biography:

Joanie was a public School teacher in So. Cal for 37 years before retiring to Sedona in 2007. She and her husband Charlie moved to N. Scottsdale in 2017 and last year make a move to Cave Creek. She says it's her last move before the retirement community. She's been teaching Fiber Clay Sculpting for over 15 years and loves creating with this unique clay. She has also taken up mosaicking again and is now creating lots of treasures for their home. Joanie still loves teaching and creating although is no longer a working artist. "It's time to make what I want", she says. "I just want to play and create."
